Ustabilt blodsukker
Dit problem skyldes efter alt at dømme ustabilt blodsukker. Det indebærer, at transporten af sukker fra dit blod ikke fungerer optimalt, så sukkeret ikke når frem til cellerne, som netop behøver sukkeret for at lave energi. Det gælder især hjerne- og muskelceller. Når dine hjerneceller går ”sukkerkolde”, føler du dig sulten, rastløs, irritabel og har en solid trang til noget sødt her og nu. Hvis bare du kunne finde en måde at regulere det problem på, ville det hele være meget lettere. Og det kan du.
Chrom kan være løsningen
Forskerne har fundet ud af, at hvis man mangler stoffet chrom, er man meget mere tilbøjelig til at have problemer med sit blodsukkerbalance – det vil sige det rette forhold imellem det sukker, man indtager, og det sukker som når frem til cellerne. Chrom er ”arbejdsmakker” til insulin og hjælper med at sluse sukkeret ind i cellerne.
Når du indtager føde, som sukker er en naturlig del af, danner kroppen insulin. Dette hormon sørger for at transportere sukkeret hen til, og ind i, cellerne. Men chrom forstærker denne effekt ved at låse cellen op indefra, så der kan komme langt mere sukker ind i cellen.
Hvordan får jeg nok chrom?
For at få nok chrom, er det vigtigt, at du spiser en kost, der indeholder gode chromkilder som eksempelvis broccoli, kød og fuldkorn. Et godt chrom-tilskud kan dog desuden være fornuftigt for dem, der netop føler, at de har sukkertrang.
