Vi søger højt og lavt for at se, om der er kommet ny forskning eller for mange urters tilfælde, flere forsøg, der bekræfter, hvad fx kineserne har vidst i 5000 år: At urter har, hvis de har vokset de rette steder, er blevet behandlet ordentlig undervejs til fabrikken og tjekket for aktive stoffer på laboratorier, en virkelig fin evne til på naturlig vis at regulere organer og organsystemer, der på alle mulige måder har brug for støtte.
Astragalus membranaceus eller på pæredansk: Hindeagtig astragel

Og derfor er der så mange nejsigere blandt dem, der sværger til den mere almindelige vestlige medicinske behandling.
Men tager vi jahatten på, kigger på 73 forskellige studier, fx på Astragalus membranaceus, så tegner der sig et billede, vi godt kan lide:
