Vi har gået barfodet i millioner af år, og vores krop var altid i kontakt med jorden. I dag bruger vi sko, går på asfalt og bor i høje bygninger. Vi har, bogstaveligt talt, koblet os fra denne naturlige og nødvendige forbindelse med vores Moder Jord.

Jordens overflade og naturen generelt er et stort elektrisk netværk med en let negativ ladning (1). Når vores hud kommer i kontakt med jordens overflade, absorberer vi elektroner (negativ ladet), som hjælper os for eksempel med at neutralisere frie radikaler (positiv ladet) (2, 3), som kommer fra vores egen metabolisme, men også fra fx at være i lukkede rum som et kontor, eller når vi er udsat for luftforurening, tobak, forarbejdet mad med alle mulige tilsætningsstoffer.

En anden hypotese om, hvorfor det fungerer, er, at når vi er i kontakt med jorden, har vi den samme elektriske ladning som planetens. Når man ændrer den elektriske ladning ved at isolere sig selv med gummisåler, ændres fysiologien. Husk, at vi er ren kemi, da vi er lavet af elektroner, protoner og deres interaktion. Er der videnskab bag ved Earthing?

Sagt på en anden måde, kan disse forstyrrelser i åndedræts- og hjerterytme måske være en af ​​grundene til det enorme antal kroniske sygdomme, der findes i dag i vores moderne samfund?

James L. Oschman PhD skriver om det i sin tekst om kroniske sygdomme med titlen “Chronic Disease: Are We Missing Something?” (19), hvor han foreslår, at vores moderne livsstil, som holder os uden jordforbindelse, kan bidrage til kroniske niveauer af inflammation (20), som er et fælles kendetegn ved mange kroniske sygdomme (21).

Det kan betyde, at hvis vi praktiserer Earthing, kan det være et meget vigtigt redskab eller en hjørnesten, ikke kun til at forebygge, men også for at støtte behandlingen af mange kroniske sygdomme, som er relateret til inflammation (22).

Hvordan kan du genoprette forbindelse til jorden?

Det er let: Gå barfodet, læg dig ofte på stranden, eller bad i havet:

  • At gå barfodet: Din hud skal være i kontakt med jorden, så gå ofte ud i haven eller i parken, og tag dine sko af. Hvis du ligger på jorden, vil du øge kontaktfladen og dermed den potentielle fordel. Stranden er også ideel til at gå barfodet, og du kan fordybe dig i vandet. Du kan også læse en bog, mens du læner dig mod et stor træ.

I 1982 blev der i Japan lanceret et program kaldet Shinrin-yoku, som kan oversættes som skovbad. De første undersøgelser viste, at en gåtur i 40 minutter i skoven producerede en større reduktion i stressniveauer og aktivering af alfabølger i hjernen end den samme gåtur i byen. Efterfølgende forskning bekræftede disse resultater og viste, at naturen forstørrer de gavnlige virkninger af fysisk aktivitet, da træer og planter frigiver flygtige stoffer, kaldet phytoncider, som vi absorberer gennem det olfaktoriske system. Når de når hjernen, producerer de en øjeblikkelig reduktion i stresshormoner.

Derudover frembringer naturlige lyde fra fugle eller vandløb hjerneforandringer, der medvirker til en tilstand af afslapning. Mens moderne lyde, såsom biler eller fly, producerer den modsatte effekt, selv ved lille decibelstyrke.

Konklusion

Vi kommer fra og har udviklet os i naturen, og vores gener har gavn af at genoprette forbindelsen til deres naturlige habitat. Dette er ikke et argument mod udvikling. Bymiljøer har utvivlsomt mange fordele, men vi skal forstå, at deres design påvirker os.
