Børnene i Cambodja er vilde med den nye sundhedsbar, der er sprængfyldt med vitaminer og økologiske råvarer – og så smager den som slik. Det kan børn i Cambodja også godt lide …

For 45 år siden var tilværelsen et mareridt i Cambodja. Det rædselsvækkende og ondskabsfulde Pol Pot-regime myrdede på blodigste og bestialske vis millioner af landets egen befolkning, og forholdene var ubeskrivelige.

I dag – 45 år efter – er der et spirende oprør mod landets leder gennem 30 år, Hun Sen, der via sit parti, Cambodjan People Party, prioriterer sin familie og venner over landets 15 millioner store befolkning.

Fattigdommen er stadig meget stor – og Cambodja er gået fuldstændigt i stå i forhold til nabolandene Thailand og Vietnam.

Hun Sen slår ned med hård hånd mod enhver seriøs opposition – og Cambodja er således nummer 128 på listen over lande med pressefrihed. Ikke særligt betryggende for befolkningen…

Hun Sen har ikke leveret varen – og den store fattigdom slår igennem alle vegne i Cambodja – fra hovedstaden Phnom Penh til den mindste landsby.

Eksempelvis er der ingen tog, der kører i Cambodja, hvor der heller ikke er nogen form for sygesikring. Patienter skal betale ved kasse 1 – ellers er der ingen behandling.

Især det sidste er et problem for den jævne befolkning. Hvis et ældre familiemedlem rammes af alvorlig sygdom, vil familien – som i Danmark – gøre alt for at hjælpe. Men pengene er små – og at sende en ung pige i familien til prostitution i et af de rige nabolande er en nærliggende mulighed.

Endnu værre er måske det misbrug, der finder sted af børn – især i de allerfattigste områder, hvor en dollar om dagen kan betyde liv eller død.

 

Piger lever i frygt

Piger er som mange andre steder i Østen opdraget på en anden måde end drenge. Eller som den daglige leder af Children Future International børnecentret i Battambang, Giuila Ciucci, forklarer:

– Mens de små drenge gerne løber helt nøgne rundt, skal pigerne altid være iført tøj. De seksualiseres ofte i en meget, meget tidlig alder. Mange er af den opfattelse, at en lille pige i et lille skørt er et sexobjekt.

– Jeg tror ikke, at det er fædrene, der misbruger deres døtre. I alt fald ikke mere end i andre lande. Men i Cambodja kommer folk hele tiden ind og ud af hinandens huse, og små og store piger er ofte ude for misbrug, når en god ”ven” eller nabo kommer på besøg. Håbløsheden fører mange ud i alkoholisme, og så er der ikke langt til, at et seksuelt misbrug af et barn finder sted.

– Mange af de ca. 225 børn, som vi har daglig kontakt til, især pigerne, er utrygge ved at overnatte hjemme – af frygt for at blive voldtaget.

– Et nyt problem er de mange mobiltelefoner, der også er udbredt herude. De helt billige modeller kan anskaffes af de fleste, og der er kommet en meget ubehagelig sport blandt teenagedrenge, der via små gaver lokker telefonnumrene ud af pigerne. Herefter indleder de tilsyneladende en stormkur, men kun for at arrangere et stævnemøde, hvor pigen er i meget stor risiko for at blive voldtaget. Voldtægten tør hun ikke anmelde, politiet er korrupt, forældrene vil blive skamfulde – og så vælger hun som regel at gå ud af skolen og blive gift med sin voldtægtsmand, siger schweiziske Giulia Ciucci, der med sin søster og nogle amerikanske bekendte har grundlagt CFI-børnecentret i Battambang i 2008.

Forældrene vælger sommetider at sælge deres børn, ofte for 500 danske kroner. Forældrene er i den tro, at barnet bortadopteres til gode mennesker, der vil sikre barnet en uddannelse og god opvækst. Men de ender i stedet i misbrug, måske på et af de skjulte bordeller, eller de får en anden forfærdelig skæbne.

 

Passer på over 200 børn

CFI-børnecenter har nu ca. 12 piger boende fast på centret. Piger i alderen fra 10 til 16 år. De har ingen forældre og var gået en grum skæbne i møde, hvis ikke de havde fundet et hjem i børnecentret.

CFI har seks elever i alderen fra 16 til 20 år boende i et kompleks lidt uden for Battambang, hvor de alle har en 1-værelses lejlighed ved siden af hinanden.

De er enten i lære eller studerende på universitetet, og de er under opsyn af en socialarbejder på centret. Det er tillige lykkedes at skaffe seks plejefamilier for seks andre børn, der går i skole i centret, hvor der herudover er 160 dagelever, der går i skole og får et dagligt måltid på skolen. Endelig er 30 elever ”integreret” på en privatskole, hvor CFI betaler for undervisningsmaterialer, skoleuniformer m.m.

Et effektivt projekt, i sin tid startet af to unge, amerikanske skolelærere, Andrew Wolff og Jenny Ciucci, der bare ikke kunne holde ud at se på tilstandene i Cambodja. Så lejede de en villa lidt uden for Battambang (Cambodjas næststørste by), tog de helt små tiggere med hjem og grundlagde dermed et børnecenter.

Foreningen kidzhelp.dk er er en dansk hjælpeforening, der er oprettet primært for at støtte det fantastiske arbejde, der udføres af de unge mennesker i Battambang.

CFI er en non-profit organisation med et minimum af administrationsomkostninger. Her er absolut ikke dyre lokaler og højtlønnede medarbejdere, kun en gruppe lærere, socialarbejdere og køkkenpersonale, der modtager en beskeden gage for deres arbejde i børnecentret i Battambang.

kidzhelp.dk har udvalgt dette projekt som mål for økonomisk støtte, bl.a. via events, annoncer og sponsorprogrammer. Det koster 300 kr. årligt at være medlem af kidzhelp.dk og dermed støtte børnene i Cambodja.

 

Ny lækker sundhedsbar

Nu har sundhedssitet alun.dk valgt at indgå i et nyt og spændende samarbejde med kidzhelp.dk

Sundhedssitet alun.dk er grundlagt af Alun Biggart, der med rødder i det skotske højland nu er lokaliseret i Farum, hvor han og hans entusiastiske medarbejdere sælger et væld af sundhedsprodukter – lige fra kosttilskud til de populære ”Five Finger Shoes”.

På den store sundhedsmesse ”Sund Livsstil”, der blev holdt i Øksnehallen i København i september, var der Danmarks-premiere på en ny, lækker sundhedsbar, ”me2we”. En 50 grams “me2we” koster 25 kroner. Alle barer er fremstillet af koldpressede økologiske råvarer, der har beholdt det naturlige indhold af aktive enzymer, vitaminer og antioxidanter. En sand sundhedsbombe at sætte til livs. Baren havde stor succes på sundhedsmessen:

“Det er den bedste sundhedsbar, jeg har smagt, og når et køb samtidig er med til at gøre verden til et bedre sted, så glider den ned med både stor nydelse og god samvittighed. Jeg kan varmt anbefale Me2we-baren”, siger Charlotte Heje Haase, redaktør på magasinet Psykologi.

Baren indeholder dadler, kokos, ananas, chiafrø, paranødder og macadamianødder. En særlig indpakning sikrer lang holdbarhed – det perfekte mellemmåltid på jobbet, på rejsen eller i sportshallen.

– Vi er naturligvis meget glade for støtten fra alun.dk og “me to we” og håber, at mange vil vælge denne bar, når de får lyst til noget sundt og lækkert, siger Carsten Clausen, formand for kidzhelp.dk.
